Hong Kong lift nightmare

We are at the 30th floor. The flat is horrible. The only nice thing about the flat is that we could see kites through the window. The lifts were not working one day. So we went down the emergency exit. It was a long way down to the ground and then there was the alarmed door. A member of staff knew so we went through it.

Hong Kong wild life

On Hong Kong island we saw two kites. I'm hoping to see some dolphins. A pond heron is the smallest heron in Hong Kong. There's a kind of egg eating mongoose.

24th April in Hong Kong

We went on a tram and went on a ferry to the mainland. We had lunch in a shopping mall. I really liked the soup. It was bean and barley.

We went to a Museum. It was about the history of Hong Kong. I learned about how salt was made. I learned about the Opium War. This was about some trade between China and England. England got control of Hong Kong. England is not in charge of Hong Kong anymore.

I think the view of Victoria Harbour is nice. I like the different sizes of the boats in the water. This morning I saw a small boat where a cruise ship was, and it was going across the water and passed a fishing boat. There are often loads of boats. They never crash into each other.

Wild camels in Sharjah

We saw wild camels. They moved too quick to take a picture. We only saw them for a moment. They were crossing the road. One camel was a bit slower. It didn't get run over. It looked like they were galloping. I felt it was amazing.

Going for a ride in Yemen

Yemen is disorganised. The cars in Yemen are falling to pieces. Some didn't have doors. Sometimes we saw people mending them on the road. But it is colourful and interesting. We went in a 4x4 to the rock palace and mountain villages. It wasn't too bumpy. It was dusty. I liked looking out the window.

Cars in Yemen

There were loads of bashed up cars in Yemen. Doors were missing. There were loads of dents. Some of them didn't have brakes. We made a joke that we had to find one with a steering wheel.

Sea otters in Lisbon

The sea otters were brown with a white head. They were in the aquarium. I thought they looked rather cute. They were asleep in the weeds. They were lying on their backs and they put weed round themselves to anchor themselves otherwise they will wake up and find they are in a totally different area.

Holes in Apollo Bay

I was playing in the sand. I dug a big hole. At the bottom there was water. I was amazed when water appeared. I didn't think it would appear. It didn't think I would get deep enough. I showed my sisters. They started digging holes too.

Temperate rainforests in Australia

We went to explore temperate rain forests in Victoria. The canopy was quite dense. It smelt of wet trees. The ground was soft and springy. I saw ferns with really big leaves. Inside the rain forest it was a nice temperature. Outside it was hot. It was fun to go in and hide in the trees. The glow worms looked beautiful. We saw them at the edge of the forest.

If you look closely in this photo, you can see me.

Koala up a gum tree

I was the first to see a koala. At first everyone thought I didn't see it. Then Squirrel and Shark started to look where the koala was. Everybody was very excited. Mummy took a picture.

Octopus pool

I was really excited to see an octopus straight from the ocean. It was in a big square rockpool. A fisherman had caught the octopus. He was going to let it go again. It changed colour surprisingly fast.

Glow worms

Glow worms are insect larvae. They look like little lights in the bushes. I saw them at the edge of a rainforest in Southern Australia. I felt a bit scared at first. Because we were heading into a rainforest and it was dark. It was wonderful.

This is a picture of us playing in the rainforest in the day.

The drive to Apollo Bay

We drove from Melbourne along the Great Ocean Road. The drive was long. We stopped at quite a few beaches and I can remember one of the shells I found. When we reached Apollo Bay we went to the beach and there was a sandy playground next to the beach.

Healesville animal sanctuary

Kookaburras are one of mummy's favourites. I like the kookaburras quite a lot too. They are a bit cheeky. They looked really pretty. They eat snakes. And snails. I don't like snails very much.

The wombat was quite slow. We saw him digging a hole in his enclosure.

Echidna looks a bit like a hedgehog. When we were driving some place an echidna crossed the road behind a big jeep. I didn't expect that. If the echidna had crossed sooner he would have been run over. Mummy tried to take a picture of the echidna.

Pelicans scared me. They are so big and they have big beaks. They kept walking towards us when we were sitting on the bench. Shark had a toy pelican. One of the pelicans kept going over to it.

Picnic and parrots

We went to a picnic area in Australia. We didn't have a very big picnic. We had sandwiches. The parrots came over to the picnic table. I didn't feel frightened. I liked to see their colours.

Campsite at Healesville, Australia

There was a really nice playground there. We were weaving ibis feathers into our hair and making a bridge across the creek to damn the water. Mummy forced us to have a shower.

The ibis would come into the playground. They frightened me a bit because of their long beaks. The pink ones were really hard to photograph.
